An ice storm hit the Capital District knocking out power to 240,000 people. I know you Watertownians had a similar situation and the working crews say your storm was worse but this storm affected alot more homes because of population. Bryce, Jessie and Erinn joined us at Cohoes as we were fortunate not to lose any power. They got power on Sunday morning. The pic is a neighbors branch that hit our kitchen, the screen protected the branch from making quite an entrance but the birds love the added landing area. Happy Holidays!

I know your all impressed that I actually posted a picture aren't ya!!
Boy am I impressed! Now where are pictures of your company..."kids and grandkid"!!!! Now we all expect to see more from the Albany area. I am glad to hear everyone survived. My grandkids just left after a few hours and it was touch and go there for awhile...just kidding. Tell the girls hi and give Bryce a kiss for us. Take care if you need anything let us know.
If you didnt have to cook grilled cheese on a kerosene heater than it couldnt of been that bad kidding. It should help your golf game though with fewer branches and trees for you to hit.
Jan sorry to here about your little ice storm but us northern new yorkers are use to these storms.I'm glad to see everybody is okay and it sounds like you got to spend some quality time with the kids. I also would have to say that if you were a true avid golfer like you say you are, you would make sure the golf courses were in good shape. I also agree with saint8 that it might help your game. You also might want to check the courses out in June for the first annual whatever your calling it. Anyways good luck with that???????? See you on Christmas day!!!!!!!
I just got one question, when the tree fell and no one was outside, did it still make a noise? I 'll bring my son down to take care of that tree. Jess can cut and my son will teach you how to to turn the tree into pulp and then paper. Let him know if you find any fossils in it as he wants to be an archeologist. Glad all is well.
Laugh it up boys, You missed the note that birdies enjoy the new landing area, therefore i can only conclude that 2009 will be filled with birdies instead of an eagle... The tree hit at 1 a.m., i heard nothing, slept thru it all, can't say the same for Tony. Sorry Jay no pics of the kids, didn't think of it.. Hero why did u delegate me for this June golf outing, I am not a prisoner ya know although would consider switching jobs for a day or 2.
What june golf outing why have i not been informed. I am usually the only one who you can get an answer from and usually it is yes and for all you jokers out there i am talking about golf. Oh i get it being the most feared golfer last year you guys wanted to get a warm up in before i beat, bad news is you better do it before June as i plan on being out multiple times in St.Croix in May if not before.
Most feared golfer? Thats right Saint 8, when your not chucking clubs you are wistling golf balls by peoples heads. As for the golf aspect though, good thing nobody kept a money list last year because like Tiger, I play seldom but always cash in! I think I can set one up on the side like the polls are now. I will just keep adding to it.
i think that is a good idea set a poll for who is anticipated to be the best or most feared golfer for the summer remember to be feared must mean you would have to actually come out and be seen in public with us. And the reason why you won the times you came outis we thought you might come back again and as for whistling balls that was the best shot i hit all day next time get of the green faster.
Jan I thought you might be first to hold this event that way you can't say nobody ever comes down at my courses. Saint8 we were all talking about golf at Papa's birthday party. Since we may not have a SOMBA because of all the weddings we all thought a golf outing would take it's place this year. We all thought we would take turns holding this event. Albany, Syracuse, Rochester, maybe Lowville and Carthage, and of course Watertown. Since we might not have the SOMBA we thought we should definately have this tournament. We'll rotate every year where we have this outing. We all figured June would be good because that way there would be no more lacrosse. If it wasn't for Jim we could go earlier. You weren't around when we were talking about this, probably feeding some rats.
I was trying to be like my hero and enjoy the green like you do. I got an acronym for you guys, WHAT LOSERS
W Watertown
H Henrietta
A Alder Creek
T Town of (cant say it, starts with a c)
L Lowville
O Old Forge
S Syracuse
E East Rochester
R Rotterdam
S Schenectady
i think what you got is too much time on your hands. Is this going to be teams like the somba or just a huge golf outing. You cant throw something like this out there and not give any details. All i know is i will be able to showcase my skill all over new york.
by the way i dont see a poll yet
I think Jayson has a great idea. Just like the pro tour, have tournaments at different places. We can have one in Rochester, Syracuse, Albany, Lowville, Utica, Carthage and Watertown. I realize not everyone would be able to make all these tournaments, but the pro's skip tournaments too. Thats 7 tournaments in 4-5 months, we should be able to manage that and track the winnings on the blog, thoughts?? Those who reside in the tourney city would choose the course and follow up who is attending (to make reservations), bring on the trash talking, Saint8/Hero/Jayson??
You notice where you are on the money list, at the bottom which is wehre i am sure you will stay. This goes for both twins. With two non-contenders on top i guess this makes room for the 3rd guy to take the helm. Once in front there is no looking back. The tour could do a special appearence in St.Croix, USVI if enough in attendence. We could call it GAS IT, Golf and Sun Invitational Tourney.
I hate to be the brains of this operation and have to bring one small minor detail to the forefront but... If you are canceling the SOMBA, a golf outing, due to weddings and you want to schedule a golf outing in place of the SOMBA, aren't you just having another SOMBA?
Don't you have kids to suspend?
Good communication between husband and wife in the blog....only a St. Croix would manage that. As I recall Saint8, I believe I heard those exact same words from you for the Uncle/Nephew Challenge and I have a bed pan trophy that I just can't wait to share. And we do remember the outcome (thank you bro's) of the Uncle/Nephew 2008 Challenge don't you? New Year and plenty of birdies are in my future. Top 3 prediction here!!
