Pre Halloween Party at Jensen & Dunc's

The grandchildren were all dressed and so was I until some little ones decided that the cat and the hat would be better off without that.....paint on his face. A wash and a scrub all clean for the those that don't like mean!!! Happy time had by all....1, 2, 3 Amy showed them all how to be! She dunked for the apple, blind folded the players, and then she snacked on the doughnuts until there were none left over for whoville!!!!

Happy birthday Jess

Jess celebrated his birthday this past Sunday with pizza and cake. Justyn snaps the family photos like this one now. I might just have an assistance. I know by now Jess wishes he never asked for a chain saw but I know Jared and Jayson are ever so grateful that he got one!!! Remember payback is a .........

Timber me shivers....burr!!!!

Jayson may like coaching with lax sticks but he doesn't appreciate all the extra sticks in his back yard tonight!!! A neighbor's tree committed tree-a-cide with a lethal load of snow that forced it crashing into Jay's back yard. One more tree and Amy might have to cover up when she lays in the sun. P.S. this is the last chain saw Jess ever gets for his birthday.... first Jared clears his forest and now Jay, who's next???? Thank goodness for Jess, Kyle and Josh Harwood-Thomas (his neighbors). At least Jay can walk out back now.

Trick or Treat in the Snow???

Only in the North Country can one have a real trick before we give out the treats!!!! Snow snow snow, how can one even see my ghosts!!! If this keeps up I may take the bah humbug approach for Christmas!!!! Happy Halloween! Open invite for pizza and trick or treating from our home base Friday night. By the way I may just dress up as a farmer and drive my snowblower around!!!

National Title - Jo Ann

Only in sports did I think a St. Croix would win a national title but as always a women proves me wrong! Jo Ann won the National H. & R. Block Franchisee of the year. Just like sports she moved from being nominated to Regional to the National Title. She says she got a statue (I'll call it a trophy) and her name goes on the traveling trophy which in her words is like the Stanley Cup. Why would she be thinking hockey among so many other sports. The dust hasn't settled yet but according to Jodi who went with her she has been congratulated by hundreds of people at the convention. Her acceptance speech to 2000 was great according to Jodi (Jo Ann doesn't quite remember what she said). So let's chalk this up to a great supporting staff and a big cheer to our favorite tax preparer. Call me for party details!!!! Oh, and by the way I understand a trip comes with the title - I wonder if she will get to go to the White House like the sports teams. I will post pictures when Jodi returns with them.

Congratulations Jo Ann

In case you haven't heard my favorite tax preparation owner will be recognized at the Convention this coming week as the Regional Franchisee of the Year for Region 2. This is a very dubious honor considering the size of this region which stems from Ohio to the east coast and as far south as Maryland and beyond!!! We are all very proud of her and congratulate her on this accomplishment. As this award is a prelude to the national award we will keep our fingers crossed and tax deductions honest!!!! Good luck and if anyone wants to sign up for the spectator bus to witness the award presentation please let me know.....it will leave Saturday and may not return until spring!!!!

And he's up and standing!!!!

Went to see the next NHL player at the rink today and yes he is up. I took some action shots but when I reviewed them they all looked the same. I will have to check the camera for sequence pictures for action shots it must not be working or he didn't move much!!! Just kidding he did very good even without Senator's attire!!!!

NSIL Wedding Set Up - ideas for Jo

Jo Jo I took these pictures from a wedding that my daughter had volunteered to help decorate at the NSIL. I couldn't resist the urge and offered my assistance when she asked for assistance. The place came out real nice but the afternoon pictures really do not do it justice. Jill said the lighted candles, black & white theme and dusk made the facility look real rich and nice. She said everyone thought a professional had decorated the hall. I snapped the pictures just in case you use the facility and need some ideas. As always if you need any assistance I am here. One word of advice from Anthony is watch the small tea lights as elderly people sometimes don't realize where they have set the bread basket. I guess there were only two flaming baskets headed for the a bath in the kitchen sink!!!! Not bad - the place was set for about 225.

Apple Picking 2008

The St. Croix Apple Picking Adventure 2008. The kids as you can see all had a good time. We came back with enough apples to open our own fruit stand. One word of caution is that you should wear safety gear which includes face protection and hard hat. Or stay with the kids because you are less likely to get hurt. I hope everyone enjoys their honey crisp and if you find a piece of my tooth let me know. All had a good time and the weather was great. For anyone wanting to join us next year let us know.

Justyn's Field Trip with Grandma Jo

Justyn took his first field trip of the year and Grandma Jo went along to supervise. It brought back memories as Justyn's teacher is Mrs. Doell who had Justyn's father at Sacred Heart when he was in 5th grade. A trip to the State Street fire station. Now if I can just get Jo Ann to take the camera and take 300 pictures of the event. Look for yesterday's apple picking event in the near future once the flash backs stop!!!!

Proof that you have to crawl before you can....skate?

Yes it's true, the Dunking Dunc is trying out hockey. He asked if he could try it and he likes it. His first day was a mixed bag, he learned how to crawl on the ice and aces that part. He's currently working on standing up from a prone position. He's getting there and with Tone Dogs expert tutalage this week, I'm guessing next week will be a different story. He did learn a good lesson from all you "golfers", if he isn't going to skate good, he sure is going to look good.

Duncs Sweet Revenge

This is what you get papa jay when you tell Dunc that he talks to much. Next time, I will tell him to take it easy on you. At least he left you one good lip to drool out of. See ya next fall!!! PS I found a piece of a tooth in his knuckle...Do you know who it might belong to?
