Proof Blood is Thicker When Family Comes Together
"If you can dodge a hammer you can dodge a ball". This wise old adage came true this saturday afternoon. Uncle Jonnie Cake (aka Capitan) assembled a team of all stars to compete in the Mike Cerroni Dodgeball tournament at a school that will not be mentioned in my blog. The team of Jayson, Jared, Amy, Jonna, Josh and Alexis took home the trophy in the adult division that consisted of 12 teams in a double elimination format. Jared and Josh did most of the heavy work with thier blistering heaters and accuracy while ALexis and Jonna held thier own eliminating some of the other teams top dudes. I did the sniping while Amy chased balls in a way that would make Spitzer envious. It was a fun time and we look forward to repeating next year. I just hope that Jess doesn't get a team in next year as I wouldn't want to be on the other end of his heater. Oh, did I mention that when the high schoolers challenged us, we got smoked!!! Sorry there is no picture, I assume Sister Kodak didn't know about it or was too busy watching figure skating. Proof will be forthcoming when it appears in the Carthage newspaper.

I am surprised that Josh is so multi-talented watching some rather bizarre wrestling late Friday night and then being able to switch to dodge ball on Saturday! Josh seemed to have his eye on "sweet tart" last night who must have given him the strength. Sorry no one put the event on the blog or I am sure a famous photo journalist would have attended. By the way I talked to the Times guy last night!!! I couldn't attend I was making sure "my" grandmother" had heat after the flood last night!!!
Thanks to everybody playing in the dodgeball tournament. You two guys and four girls played very well and kept that St. Croix tradition of winning alive. I do believe that you guys wouldn't have won if it wasn't for the expertise coaching you had. I must have learned from Terry.(you know "Francona") Thanks again everybody!!!!!!!
It was alot of fun and I am looking forward to playing again next year. Next time I will be sure to stretch first- I am still sore!
i can not lift my arm above my head but i will still whoop you all this weekend in golf you think i was throwing sniper darts in dodgeball wait to you see my driver. i predict 4 under of course that is 4 under 60.
Notice the golf excuses start already!! I heard Jonna is quite the athlete, Jonna, take up golfing and we will beat your Dad and Ryan. Notice the real athletes (Jayson and Amy) haven't commented yet. Jon how does it fell to lose a trophy!!
Amy and Jayson can't comment....All Amy did was chase balls and I couldn't break a pane of a glass. Kudos to Josh and Jared for carrying us(Bye the way, before any jokes start, it does take two to carry me nowadays).
Amy hasn't had time to comment because she still under a rock hiding. It is not cool to be in the Carthage Tribune as the dodge ball champ for all your students to see. However, it was fun, and I have no problem with giving the guys on our team some balls again next year to defend our title.
I guess from the sounds of it Amy is giving Jayson a chance and time to grow a pair!!!! What do you think?
