APRIL CELEBRATIONS

April 3rd - Mom is the first birthday of this month, shown above with her newest great-grandchild Bryce, how nice! How old??? Let's just say if you added up the number of children and their spouses; her grandchildren and their spouses; and her great-grandchildren all together - you still wouldn't be close. However, it is possible to match her age with attendance at the annual reunion!!!

BREAKING NEWS.....this just in from his future father-in-law:

April 5th - Shawn Malone celebrates his special day with a home cook meal from his future bride no doubt, right Jo Jo. Let's hope it isn't Kraft macaroni and cheese!!!! Happy Birthday Shawn.

April 6th - Liam will be celebrating his 10th birthday no doubt with his lacrosse stick in one hand.

April 19th - Jeff & Rose will celebrate their 28th wedding anniversary.

April 21st - Cathy will be celebrating her birthday. We won't reveal her age but we will say she is the same age as someone else and is creeping closer to a big milestone. Happy birthday Cathy we know who the real SAINT in your house is for putting up with Jean.

April 25th - Caroline's big # 7 birthday. This child born from a 7th child and sharing some of his traits is bound for good luck on her special day. Buy her a lottery ticket Jean!!!

and ROUNDING OOOOOUT the month is....

April 26th - Amy will celebrating her big 3 - 0 birthday. Maybe Jayson will help her out with the kids and around the house for a birthday present!!!!

He is really cute, strong and very alert!!! Glad they made the trip so I could take some pictures, only wish I could take them all day......but Bryce doesn't like the flash. They are off to see Nana this afternoon so look for more pictures later.

SOMBA 2008

I know it isn't Spring yet but July will be here before we know it. As I recall, it was decided that all of the brothers would chair the committee this year and therefore we should start contributing our ideas NOW. Let's all post our comments/suggestions here so all of our families can get together and make Mom, Dad and Grandma proud. Let's not kid ourselves, none of us are not getting any younger (and I say that as a proud 50 year old grandfather). Let's commit to 2008. Let's pick a date before April 1st.

Jared gives tour to General Casey's Wife

The highest ranking officer in the U.S. Army came to Fort Drum Friday with a message: we’re doing what we can to make things better for our soldiers. Chief of Staff General George Casey also brought his wife along for a tour of Ft. Drum. Our own Jared, yes, JARED had the honor of giving his wife a tour of the Aquatics Facility that is under his responsibility. For all of us who might have thought Jared would be more likely to meet the Chief of Police or the Fire Chief I guess he has one upped us!!! Way to go Jared, I hope you didn't pass any gas while giving the tour!!!

Jessie please tell old Grandpa Jan that most grandparents snap pictures right, left and all over! Looks like I may have to come down myself and click away, what you do you think??? He looks cute but would look better in a real picture from a CAMERA!!!!

Seeing double at the YMCA

They all think they are seeing double when they see these two at the indoor soccer facility, especially the boys!!! We all know which one is which don't we????

Future Soccer Players

They may have just started to walk recently but they'll soon be kicking the soccer ball around with siblings at the local YMCA. Jensen may have Dad's school colors but we hope she has Amy's soccer talent because we know Dad played football!!! As for Jeremyah he already kicks the ball better than his brothers!!!

MARCH MADNESS

Okay this month is suppose to be "March Madness" so who will be the first blogger to put some kind of fun thing we can all participate in on the blog???? Will Grandma be praying for DUKE? Will Jared be wishing for Florida State? Is Jayson still with the Tar Heels or is North Carolina just a vacation spot now? Will Syracuse keep Papa and Nana glued to the TV?

Making Big Papa & Big Amma Proud

The clan showed up in full support for Big Papa today, and you could see the twinkle in his eyes. He was quick to let everyone know that they were his great grandchildren. We can only hope and pray that he sticks around long enough for thier votes. As long as he keeps feeding them licorce and gummy bears I don't think they will mind pulling his lever. By the way, he was given the honor of leading the Legion in the pledge of alligence. Must be an Iowian thing.

Already???????

Amy has already started teaching Tula the finer points in life. Gab sessions with Gabby, a haircut at a salon. What's next? The manicure and pedicures? God bless you Gabby, your a saint (well not yet).

This has been a good quality time week for one of us. No, not me, I have been laid up sick but Amy has picked up the slack. How many times have I told you Julian, DON"T FEED THE ANIMALS!

Proud Papa Saint

Hey Bryce, I guess you will be going to Syracuse games in your future with Papa Saint. Jan we need some pictures with a "camera"!!! Am I going to have to come down and take some myself??? Looks like you still have the nack and the best part is you can send them back after you have had your fill!!!! All the fun without the midnight feedings, ear infections and etc..... Glad to see the picture, keep them coming. Wish you were closer so you and Jon could have side by side pictures with your grandson and his daughter. In the future........

Nana sees Ella Jean

Suck up "Jon" and his lovely wife Jenny brought Ella Jean to the City today and stopped to see his favorite Grandmother. I hear she couldn't believe that he didn't use one of her family names this time but then there is alway the next time ..... how does Emmett (Howard's middle name) sound???? Eva, Ella and Emmett to go with Jonna, Jo Anna and Joshua...... sounds good to me! All in all I think it was very nice that he visited and Ella already has more visits to Nana this year than some. I know it made her day after a depressing week hearing about her sister and her family. Jon I just noticed she has her eyes open it must not be time to clock in yet!!!

Welcome Bryce Xavier

We welcomed Bryce Xavier Peterson into the St. Croix Clan at 2:43 a.m. this morning. He was 7lbs. 12 oz. and 21 inches long. Congratulations to Jessie, Papa Jan (or as he says "Papa Saint"), and Ron. We hope you all are doing fine and wish you the best but send us some more pictures to save me a trip, please.....okay Jessie!!!!!

Watertown Wizard from Lowville

It seems Papa's investment in collegiate baseball is paying off!!! His grandson, Sam, recently participated in the new logo contest for the baseball team. Wait a minute I thought Sam was a lacrosse player?????????? I guess baseball is still the all american game, sorry all you lax guys and girls!!!! Go Yankees!!! Rumor has it that Ella has her first Yankee t-shirt. It is about time someone in that household developed some taste!!!

Ella Jean - She's the One

Well we finally made the trip to Carthage to see the new addition to the St. Croix Clan. She is beautiful and has long fingers, you don't suppose Jon will have to give up refereeing because he has a basketball player do you? Oh......what am I thinking they won't allow wheel chairs on the court when she starts playing but at least he will be able to park in the hand-i-cap sections for games. Really she has long dark hair, long fingers and sleeps. We know she gets the sleep from her father anyway!!! I can't tell you about her eyes because as much as I tried with a flash, the dogs tried by barking and her father tried to pry her eyes open she wouldn't. Like I said if she snored she could be a prison guard. A cute bundle of joy.......come on Jessie you're next!!! Don't forget to post or send a pix to me and I will.
